Centennial Park 

Within the park is the historic “Avenue of Flags” and the “Cooma Time Walk” mosaic murals depicting the history of the region. The park is alive with spectacular historic trees and ablaze with colour during Autumn. The Park has toilet facilities (wheelchair and pram access), picnic tables,children’s playground and public bus stop.

Lambie Town Walk

This 5km leisurely walk or drive takes you through the Heritage areas of Cooma township which includes three heritage listed precincts - The Court House Precinct, Lambie Precinct and Church Precincts. Lambie Street was the first commercial centre of Cooma and Church Hill has beautiful examples of nineteenth & twentieth century religious and educational buildings. This walk was originally designed and constructed by the Goulburn Lands Office in 1985 and was named after the Commissioner of Lands, John Lambie.

NSW Correctional Centre Museum 

Located in Vale Street next to the Cooma Gaol. The museum highlights the 200 year penal history of incarceration from convict days to the present in NSW Prisons. It displays a collection of objects related to punishment and crime such as manacles, leg irons, clothing, weapons and escape devices and other visual documentation.

Members of the public and small groups are all welcome. Take the Kids, They'll Love It!

Open Tuesday – Friday 12.30pm to 3.30pm, Saturday 9.15am to 3.30pm

Raglan Gallery and Cultural Centre 
 

Located in the historic Lord Raglan Inn, built by James Hain in 1854 is located at 9-11 Lambie Street, Cooma. The Gallery showcases some of the best art by notable and local artists, potters and sculptures from the region with regular exhibitions through the year.

The 'Raglan' as it is affectionately known, is a popular venue for the development of our artistic community and cultural events in the region.

Cooma Monaro Railway

Experience the thrill of rail travel on a 1924 rail motor and take in extended views of the local countryside. Cooma was the gateway to the Snowy Mountains and the destination for almost 100 years of rail service until the line was closed in 1989.

The railway's dedicated volunteers have worked hard to ensure the site's many attractions remain accessible to the public to explore and enjoy.

The train departs from Cooma’s historic railway station on Bradley Street each weekend. Contact 02 6452 7791

Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre 

This state-of-the-art visitor facility showcases the amazing history of the Snowy Mountains Scheme, from the early days of construction through to how it is operated by Snowy Hydro today. This is a must for any visitor to the Snowy Mountains region.

Informative interactive displays, historic and entertaining films. Great for children. Café on site. Open Monday–Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-2pm. Yulin Avenue Cooma call 1800 623 776

Mt Gladstone

To really appreciate the vast Monaro and Snowy Mountains you must go up to this lookout, located only 3.5km west of Cooma. The lookout offers unsurpassed views of the Monaro Plains, the extinct volcanos called 'The Brothers' and the Snowy Mountains.  There are two easily accessible lookout platforms. Picnic and toilet facilities are also available.

Past Times Country Craft Centre

Located at 583 Snowy Mountains Highway, 5km west of Cooma and home of the famous Ashford Spinning and Wool, there is a wonderful collection of crafts and products of the local region. Open Monday to Friday 9.30am-4.30pm (weekends by appointment). Coach and Tour Groups can be catered for with previous notification.

Monaro Art Group

The Cooma Monaro community has such an array of artists and  this gallery has an extensive selection of original arts and crafts by these talented people. Well worth a stop. Open Monday to Friday 10-4pm and Saturday 10-12pm. Hain Centre, Sharp Street Cooma.

Bush Reserves and Parklands

Cooma has three lovely bush reserves to explore and graceful parks. Througout the year they constantly change with the seasons. Whether you want a leisurely stroll or a more extensive bush walk, a walk down a gorge or finding out about the famous rock bolt testing for the Snowy Scheme. 

The friendly staff at the Cooma Visitors Centre can explain all your options and show you how to get to your choice.

Nanny Goat Lookout

Nanny Goat offers extensive views of the Cooma township and surrounding grazing country.  The lookout is part of the historic Lambie Town walk. The nanny goat sculpture was created by local artist the late Chris Graham also largely responsible for the erection of the Mosaic Time Walk.

Paradox Wines

Located at 346 Dry Plains Road, just past the golf course, Paradox Wines is an organic cold climate winery at 900m ASL and their first vintage was in 2004.  Open by appointment contact 02 6452 7331 to book. 

Polo Flat Airfield

Home to the Snowy Aviation Academy which offers residential courses, scenic flights, disabled flying centre and aerial photography at reasonable rates.
